Chinese Music

The
main instrument in the Chinese orchestra is the hu
qin. It has two strings and is played with a bow. The pipa
lute has more strings and is plucked like a guitar. Many children are learning
how to play the pipa. Chinese flutes, such as the xiao,
are made of bamboo. The most traditional Chinese instrument is the sheng
pipe, which is made of several bamboo reeds.
